Jack Petchey
This London and Essex based award foundation gives you a chance to shine and make a positive difference to the college, yourself and your fellow pupils.

"Established in 1999, the Jack Petchey Foundation makes grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25… The Foundation exists to raise the aspirations of young people, to help them take advantage of opportunities and play a full part in society."

Every term six students will be chosen receive the award along with a certificate, badge, access to the Jack Petchey website and several other goodies to highlight the whole experience. You will also receive £200 to spend on an activity, equipment or project that you feel passionate about to help benefit other young people like yourselves from within the college or the wider community.

Your award it is presented in front of your peers so that they can all acknowledge your achievement as you inspire others to make similar efforts. It doesn't end there; your photograph goes onto the BSix Colleges Jack Petchey wall of fame and BSix Sport Jack Petchey photo album!

Some of the reasons people have won Jack Petchey awards are:

  • Community volunteering – Playing piano at an old peoples home
  • Community and college volunteering
  • Being an outstanding role model and advocate for learning and female sports

Most importantly, the award winners are chosen by YOU the students of BSix, this ensures that the award is available for anyone who wishes to go above and beyond, so we are looking forward to seeing how you demonstrate college pride, loyalty and community spirit and the desire to make a difference for those around you.
