BSix: Success Keeps Coming
- August 26th, 2008

Success for students at BSix, the sixth form college in Kenninghall Road Hackney, keeps on coming. Having registered record A Level results a few weeks ago, the College has now achieved outstanding achievement at GCSE and in vocational qualifications.

BSix offers courses at all levels of education. Many of the courses are career-related and students achieve a Pass, Merit or a Distinction. This year almost every course has achieved a 100% pass rate. Even more impressive is the rise in the number of Merits and Distinctions. On the First Diploma, which is equivalent to four GCSEs at A-C, 78% of students achieved a Merit or Distinction. One of the many stars was the Diploma in Business which had 15 out of 18 students graduating with a Merit or Distinction.

“We are delighted to follow up on our A Level success with these results”, says Ken Warman. “BSix is here to show that a sixth form college can benefit all young people. We strongly believe that outstanding teaching, demanding standards and high expectations can deliver success for young people at all levels of education”.

“Amidst all the publicity about A Level and GCSE results it is often forgotten that many young people in schools and colleges are studying career-related or ‘vocational’ qualifications”, adds Jonathan Stewart, BSix’s new Deputy Principal. “The success of these young people needs to be acknowledged and celebrated”.

The College is enrolling for all courses every day, between 10.00 and 4.00 and is holding Saturday Advice and Guidance sessions between 10.00 and 1.00.
