BSIX FEATURES IN GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES
Every year Hamilton Media publishes an independent report on government initiatives and public sector excellence. This year’s edition has a special focus on education, showcasing some of the most successful schools, colleges and universities in the country.

BSix is featured for its success in creating a learning culture for all, both staff and students. The article describes how BSix aspires to be ‘a university for teachers’. The College is exceptional in the amount of professional development it provides for its staff. Teachers can take an MA in Teaching and Learning, free of charge, and delivered by the Institute of Education University of London. All staff are able to take a Coaching Diploma accredited by Middlesex University. All managers are on long-term development programmes.
Similarly, BSix seeks to develop the skills and personal qualities of its students. Most notably, our students can apply to become Learning Advocates. They are trained to observe lessons, undertake research and present their findings to senior managers. Our Learning Advocates have featured in Ofsted’s publication, The Talisman, and have addressed five national conferences.
“We are really pleased that the high quality and innovative nature of the work of our staff and students is being recognised”, says BSix’s Principal Ken Warman. “Our feature in the Government Initiatives publication is one more sign of our growing success.”
