BSIX SCOOPS ANOTHER AWARD

BSix, Hackney’s Sixth Form College, has just won a prestigious London Education Partnerships award for ‘Driving Achievement Forward’.

The award acknowledges the College’s work with students on Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) courses who then progress to Level 3 (advanced) programmes and then go on to university.

The Master of Ceremonies was Oona King, former MP for Tower Hamlets and now a potential Labour candidate for Mayor of London.

Rebekah Harris, BSix’s Head of External Relations, comments: “Winning the London Education Partnership Award for ‘Driving Achievement Forward’ is a significant acknowledgement of the effective teaching and support that we provide at BSix. The award recognises our whole college approach to internal progression and celebrates the successful educational journeys of so many of our students through college and into higher education.”

This award is another recognition of the College’s achievements and its growing reputation. “In only the last three months BSix has received a glowing report from Investors in People”, adds the College Principal Ken Warman. “The College has featured on national TV in The Young Apprentice and on several news and radio channels for hosting the launch of Diane Abbott’s bid for the Labour leadership. We are featured in a new government publication, College Excellence 2010, and are due to speak to a national conference of college Principals at the end of June. It is so gratifying that the tremendous work of our staff and students is receiving such attention and acknowledgement.”
