Staff Conference 2016

BSix has just held its summer Staff Conference. The proceedings were opened by a spectacular performance by the College's music students.

It was then followed by a (slightly less spectacular) presentation by the College's Principal, Ken Warman. He described the major improvement initiatives introduced in the 2015/16 academic year and evaluated their impact. He paid tribute to the six teaching departments and their Heads as well as pointing how the Library had been singled out for special praise by both Ofsted inspectors and researchers from the UCL Institute of Education. The role of the Exams team in delivering such an efficient and friendly service to students was noted. In addition, the appreciation of the teaching departments for the work of the Student Achievement Officers was conveyed.

The conference was closed by the College's chair of governors, David Blagbrough. He acknowledged all the hard work and commitment that had been evident throughout the year. His remarks were greeted with a thunderous round of applause.

After the speeches, staff retired to The Garden of the Ancient World for the annual summer barbecue which was as brilliant as ever.
