Big Idea Challenge

BSix College brought their involvement in this year’s Big Idea Challenge to a close at a stunning awards evening at St James’s Palace.

Over the last six months, Trisha, Sonia and Mikael have been competing against other students from all over London as part of the Big Idea Challenge and were worthy finalists in the end. It began with a brainstorming day here at BSix College back in 2016, followed by a bootcamp day at one of the RBS headquarters in Bishopsgate, followed by a powerful voting campaign, ending in yesterday’s ceremony at the residence of HRH The Duke Of York. Throughout the evening there were speeches from Holly, founder of notonthehighstreet.com as well as Prince Andrew, Duke of York himself. Although there were no BSix winners this year, it was a great opportunity to rub shoulders with the likes of other industry leaders and inspirational figures. The team would like to thank Simon Boreham, their mentor from Microsoft.

Trisha, Sonia and Mikael form a team interested in bringing Emergency Charging Booths to the streets of London. Instead of phoneboxes, which are neglected and vandalized, why not have small lockers which people can use to put their phones on charge and lock away when they’re out and about. If you’re interested in supporting this idea, get in touch by sending an email to qanderson@bsix.ac.uk – it could become a huge success!
