Music is booming at BSix

2016/17 is turning out to be another great year for Music students and staff at the College.

We have just learned that our students have been invited to perform at the Barbican as part of Hackney Music Service's 25th anniversary celebrations. This is in addition to performing as DJs at a University of the Arts London event  at St Martins in the Field.

Earlier in the year students on our Music Performance and Production courses appeared at the Hackney Music Service's annual show at the Hackney Empire. This was followed by performances at the University of Arts London national conference in front of 500 delegates!

Our Music staff are also running Saturday sessions for Hackney Year 10 and 11 pupils. The organiser of this, teacher Tobias Silvester, says: "It is so gratifying to see so many young people committed to developing their skills in music and,of course, it is so enjoyable."

Music is part of the Creative Industries department at BSix which also offers courses in Art & Design and Creative Media.
