The Centre for Young Musicians Hackney is Hackney Music Development Trust’s Saturday Music School which aims to enrich the lives of young people through music making. The Centre offers students ages 5 upwards, an extensive curriculum including group and individual instrumental tuition, singing, musicianship, ensembles, as well as the Orchestra and Choirs of CYM Hackney. The staff are all experienced music teachers and professional artists who foster a greater appreciation and understanding of different types of music.
The Centre for Young Musicians moved its home to BSix Sixth Form College in 2008 and since then Saturdays at the College are alive and bustling with young people, parents and the sound of music! We have plans to work more closely together to promote the opportunities that CYMH provides and to encourage our students to get involved as volunteers as part of our Extended College programme. |
