First Diploma in Performing Arts: Acting (Level 2)
This course provides a varied programme of drama and performance work for you to enjoy. You will work with teaching staff, all of whom have professional industry experience, to produce both devised and directed pieces. You will extend your performance skills by developing your acting and vocal range, as well as your physical and emotional expression. Effective teamworking is an essential skill requirement for this course. A tight, weekly programme ensures that you have the best opportunity to develop existing skills and experiment with new styles and techniques of performance. The Performing Arts Department also has extensive industry links, such as with the Hackney Empire, to enhance your experience and your tutors will organise educational theatre visits as a compulsory aspect of the course. You will cover a range of units including: understanding drama, devising, acting, musical theatre, the performing arts business and the performance process.
