NVQ 2 in Hairdressing
For those of you who wish to learn hairdressing and enjoy meeting people, this two-year course is ideal. It is a practical-based programme and you will also learn about the sciences related to the different aspects of hairdressing. Working with clients in a realistic salon environment, you will gain the necessary skills to develop your study further, or to begin your career. There are eight mandatory units which include: health and safety, effective communication skills, advice and consultation with clients, shampooing and conditioning of hair, hair colouring, styles and finish, setting and dressing hair and basic hair cutting techniques. There are also optional units which include: reception duties, promotion of products to clients, effectiveness at work, plaiting and twisting hair, perming and neutralising hair and hair extensions.
