NVQ 2 in Nail Services

This course is for students who wish to learn skills in manicure, pedicure, extensions and nail art. These skills will allow you to work in a nail bar or a beauty salon. The course follows a practical-based programme and you will learn about the sciences related to the different aspects of this subject, as well as customer service and health and safety. You will be working with clients in a real salon environment. This course will also allow you to gain the necessary skills to develop your studies further or begin your career. You will be prepared to attend a work placement and wear a uniform while working in the salon. The units studied are: ensure your own actions reduce risk to health and safety, promote additional products or services to clients, develop and maintain your effectiveness at work, provide manicure treatment, provide pedicure treatment and extend and maintain nails and provide a nail art service.
