BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
A BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care Learning and Development is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities.
Students will cover core subjects including, Positive Relationships for Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Positive Environments for Children’s Care Learning and Development, Reflecting on Practice in the Children’s Care, Learning and Development Sector.
You are required to reflect on the practical application of the programme, providing you with opportunities to apply your knowledge and understanding in the workplace, as well as to develop, practise and demonstrate the practical competencies required of professional childcare and early years workers. You will gain experience of working with children from birth to 8 years in a variety of early years settings.
On completion of the course, students would have the opportunity to go on to higher education to study various courses including Nursing, social work, and teaching OR you could decide to go into employment and work as a qualified nursery nurse or class room assistant in schools
The entry requirements :
- You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C or above
- BTEC First Diploma at Merit or above
