We want every teacher who joins us to feel that, if they leave us, they will do so as a better teacher.  We have an extensive staff development programme ranging from one-to-one sessions with examiners to an MA in Teaching and Learning, taught by the Institute of Education University of London staff.

We involve teachers in this process of improvement.  There are opportunities to undertake action research or learning to become a Teacher Learning Advocate in order to dissemininate and promote best classroom practice.

Similar development opportunities are available for service staff.  Everyone is encouraged to engage with our students in raising their achievement and aspirations.

Our ethos is to encourage and support everyone to perform to their absolute best in order to realise the ambitions of our students.  We want to achieve the highest possible professional standards.  At the same time, we seek to make our work at BSix enjoyable and interesting.  The atmosphere is purposeful but also friendly and warm.

Regulated by an independent monitoring process, our equal opportunities policy ensures that no member of staff receives unfair treatment on grounds of race, gender, age, national or ethnic origin, religion, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or disability.
Our working environment is new and well resourced.  Our security system is rigorous with only one entrance and a security pass which has to be worn at all times.  This guarantees a comfortable, peaceful and safe working environment for staff and students alike.
