A-Level Music Production
This course will allow you to learn how to sequence, record and produce music using industry-standard music technology.
You will learn and explore areas on production techniques, music technology in performance and sound creation and synthesis.
You will use Logic Pro X, Ableton Live and Serato DJ Technology throughout the programme.
This course also requires you to produce high-quality research and analysis through the creation of written reports, essays and evaluations.
You will have access to:
- Full 24 track digital Recording Studio
- Full range of specialist AKG, Rhode, SE and Shure Microphones
- Two iMac Suites consisting of 19 iMacs with industry-standard software
- Two Project Studios
- One Rehearsal Studio
- Music Technology hardware such as Numark Consoles and Ableton Push Consoles

Unit 32 – Sequencing Systems and Techniques
You will be assessed through a mixture of practical coursework submission, observations of live performances and presentations. Whilst this course is predominantly practical in nature, you will be required to produce high-quality research and analysis through the creation of written reports, essays and evaluations.
You do not need to have studied music academically, but an interest and or ability is vital. Those with a GCSE in Music are also ideally suited to this course. You are encouraged to learn basic keyboard skills in addition to another instrument. The entry criteria are the same as for any A-level programme in that you will have achieved 5 A* – C grades at GCSE including English language.
