Health, Social and Childcare

Combining the three areas of the care industry allows you to study a range of topics. This also provides you with knowledge and experience to progress onto and specialise in one of these areas at Level 2. Additionally, you will study a paediatric first aid course that allows access to employment in nurseries. You will also visit local nurseries to experience their work environment.

The care sector is one of the biggest industries worldwide with the NHS alone employing 1.7 million people in the UK. This course combines three areas of the sector to help you to choose your career path.

 

Entry Criteria:

For students working at Entry 3 level in English and Maths. Students will be predicted or have already achieved mostly Grade 2’s in their GCSEs.

These courses will allow you to progress to level 2 study in the vocational area of your choice. All courses have work related learning to allow you to discover insight to working in the sector you are studying. You will also study English and Maths at functional skills level one. You will develop your communication and employability skills within the tutorial and enrichment activities in your study programme. You will be assessed through coursework.
