Entry / Level 1 in ESOL

English for Speakers of Other Languages

Entry level: ESOL – duration 1 year

Entry Criteria:

Your English language skills are assessed at interview and enrolment to evaluate which group you will start your BSix journey in.

The course is designed to enable students the opportunity to achieve more than one level. Students make exceptional progress. Beginners focus on English and maths. Intermediate and more advanced learners will also study vocational studies in one of the following:

  • Business
  • Health, Social and Childcare
  • Media
  • Travel and Tourism

There are three exams periods through the year. Students are assessed from Entry 1 – Level 2. All ESOL courses offer a range of cultural and work-related experiences that support personal and academic development. The most advanced students will also be enrolled to the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

 

 

Progression pathway:

Students can progress to further ESOL levels of study, Level 1 or 2 vocational courses or a full GCSE programme, dependent on their individual achievements.
