About The Course

The level 2 NCFE Diploma Introducing Caring for Children provides you with the opportunity to study a range of topics from three main areas.  These include, childcare and education, babysitting and parenting responsibilities and caring for children and young people.

How Is The Course Taught?

There are a variety of units which cover lots of exciting topics such as healthy lifestyles, craft activities, fire safety, different kinds of play, leisure activities and food and nutrition.

The course will be taught within a variety of learning environments, ranging from our fully equipped bright and colourful nursery classroom, the learning resource centre, our think tank and our classrooms in our computer suite.

The course is taught by two members of staff with extensive childcare experience.

How will I be Assessed?

There are many ways in which assessment takes place, this is from typed assignments, questions and answer, professional discussions and group work such as posters and presentations.

You are assessed in a way to suit you, if you struggle with written assignments, there is always an alternative to you achieving the criteria.

There are no exams within this course, and it is purely coursework.

What does it lead to?

The course will allow you to progress to NCFE Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) (EYE) It will also provide you with the next steps regarding different roles within an early year’s career.

You will also learn that the activities that you complete while undertaking level 2 will prepare you well for work experience when you progress to level 3.
