About The Course

NCFE CACHE Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) prepares you to become Early Years Educators, enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

How Is The Course Taught?

You will learn a variety of topics such as, child health, play and learning, safe environments, preparing for school readiness and you will attend placement within a range of age groups so that you can gain industry experience.

The course will be taught within a variety of learning environments, ranging from our fully equipped bright and colourful nursery classroom, the LRC, think tank and our classrooms in our computer suite.

The course is taught by three members of staff with a range of vocational experience within the early years sector.

How will I be Assessed?

There are many ways in which assessment takes place, this is, typed assignments, questions and answer, professional discussions and group work such as posters and presentations.  If you struggle with written assignments, there is always an alternative to you achieving the criteria.

A work experience unit will also be assessed by teachers visiting you within your placement.

There is a controlled assessment within this qualification, and this is externally marked, this means that you will have to complete an assignment-based assessment in exam conditions, you are allowed to use the computer and the course textbook to help you with this.

What does it lead to?

NCFE CACHE Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) enables you to access Higher Education and/or alternatively, you can progress into various employment roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as:

  • Early Years Educator (Diploma only)
  • practitioner in day nurseries.
  • practitioner in nursery schools.
  • practitioner in reception classes in primary schools.

Our level 3 students choose to go to both employment and Higher Education to study Early Childhood Studies.  If the employment route is chosen, depending on the role, you can expect to earn between £17.680 per year for a Nursery Assistant/Nanny Role.  If you progress to Management within Early Years, you can expect to earn between £22.880-£25.000 per year.
