The course is designed to encourage exploration, experimentation and risk-taking whilst refining your own creative style. You will have the opportunity to creatively build on and expand skills and techniques learnt in previous art qualifications, whilst given the opportunity to add new techniques into your skillset.

How Is The Course Taught?

You will  be taught  by tutors with industry experience and taught in our dedicated facilities including  iMac suites, photography and  art studios – an open-plan space that encourages ideas sharing between students. Foundation students are provided their own workspace and area for the duration of the course. The qualification is 100% coursework and includes a range of taught lessons, seminars, group critiques and independent study.  You will be expected to work with increasing independence, bringing your own ideas, creative style and a professional attitude to your studies.

How will I be Assessed?

The qualification is 100% coursework which is internally assessed, with the final major project in the summer term externally moderated by the awarding body. You will be given supportive feedback from tutors which you will use to develop and improve your skills.

What does it lead to?

This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in  the creative industries including  Advertising, Marketing, Graphic Design, Fabric/Textile Design, Fashion, Photography, Fine Art, Interior Design,  Architecture  and Set Design, which could enable you to earn between  £30,000 – £80,000 per year.  Following this  course,  you can  progress to a degree at university, or onto a creative apprenticeship.
