Cambridge Summer Programme

20 Jul 18 2 years ago

BSix has had the best recorded attendance to date with the Cambridge University Summer programme 2018. A record breaking 25 students attended university talks, seminars and took up recreational activities, such as traditional punting, as part of the successful Hackney University Extension programme. The Hackney University Extension (HUE), which is led and organised by BSix College, has been running since 2007. The programme offers students the opportunity to participate in courses taught by university academics, which enhances their learning and improves their chance of progression to their chosen university

The programme was packed with activities and engaging workshops at the Centre for Mathematic Sciences as well as a mini-lecture and workshop at the Engineering Faculty; at which they were able to complete experiments and make their own items to keep and take home.

The students’ feedback reinforced that the HUE programme was of great benefit for them as follows:

“Cambridge mathematics residential has taught me to become a better problem solver through being: ‘resourceful and resilient’. Cambridge has honestly become a second home – thank you for such growth in learning – an opportunity and change I’ll cherish!”

Faija Uddin

“The Cambridge summer camp was very informative and enjoyable. I will hopefully enrol to Cambridge”

Nuri Uysal

“Thank you for making this trip possible. We had fun and we are really grateful.”

Sylvia, Adeyinka and Rebecca
