Safeguarding children and young people on the internet

The term online safety refers to the safeguarding of children and young people when they use devices on the internet. We are all aware of the good the internet can bring to children and young people. However, the development in technology has been rapid and this has created a shift in the way people interact with the online world – including children and young people. With the rise of social media, values of relationships, choices and respect have become very integral to the use of the internet. These values require the wisdom of an adult, that’s where you (the adult) come in to this.
