About The Course

If you want to get a job in the sports and leisure industry, then this course is ideal for you. The NCFE certificate in sport is a great course to help develop knowledge in the theory and practical- based skills needed to succeed in the sporting industry. You will build an understanding of anatomy and physiology, fitness programming and the skills needed to be a successful coach.

Your team work and communication skills will be developed through course activities, both of which are key skills future employers look for. You will have the chance to participate in team sports as part of the programme. Alongside your course you will have the exciting opportunity to be a part of the West Ham FC academy. Enabling you to take part in weekly training and matches.

How Is The Course Taught?

The course will be taught within a variety of learning environments. Using a mixture of classrooms, computer suits, gym suits, labs and MUGA (multi-use games areas). There are also organised visits or guest speakers for every unit.

How will I be Assessed?

You will be assessed via a combination of written coursework, workbooks, observations and presentations. The course is comprised of four units, 3 mandatory and 1 optional units.

What does it lead to?

After completing the course, level 2 graduates can progress to the Level 3 extended diploma in Sport. If successful at Level 3, they can progress to university in the sport sector.

These degrees range from physiotherapy, sports coaching, occupational therapy, sports rehabilitation, sports journalism, or to train as a PE teacher. Some of our students may take the apprenticeship route which can lead to employment.
