- 6 units altogether. This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured. The assessment consists of 2 components: an internally assessed portfolio of evidence which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE; a Professional Skills Record. Learners must be successful in both components to gain the Level 2 Certificate in Working with Children in Early Years and Primary Settings.
