The qualification will provide a strong base of skills, enhance self-confidence and develop an understanding of the career demands and opportunities within art, design and media.
This course introduces you to the research, contextual and practical skills required to further study and work in the creative sector. Project work will cover visual arts, 2D and 3D media using industry-standard techniques. Your Final Major Project will be informed by the skills you have developed over the year and will be displayed at the college’s annual art, media and music exhibition ‘Roots Festival.’
The creative sector is constantly growing and evolving. Government figures show that 12% of London’s jobs are in the creative sector.
Entry Criteria
For students working at Entry 3 level in English and Maths. Students will be predicted or have already achieved mostly Grade 2’s in their GCSEs.
These courses will allow you to progress to level 2 study in the vocational area of your choice. All courses have work related learning to allow you to discover insight to working in the sector you are studying. You will also study English and Maths at functional skills level one. You will develop your communication and employability skills within the tutorial and enrichment activities in your study programme. You will be assessed through coursework.
