The West Ham Foundation Football Academy in partnership with BSix College

“Our collaborative Football Academy course will help you develop the skills and knowledge to be successful in the sport, fitness and leisure industry

So, whether your focus is on improving your own performance as a sporting professional, helping other people to stay fit and healthy, leading outdoor activities or running a sports centre, career options in the industry are varied and exciting.

From general introductions about the sports industry to in-depth studies, the learning opportunities at BSIX are comprehensive and exciting and will lead to a wide range of jobs in gyms, stadiums, adventure playgrounds, camp sites or even theme parks!

In addition, we offer talented 16 -19-year-olds the opportunity to play elite men’s college football competing in the AOC Sport Men’s Championship against the very best London has to offer. You’ll also get the opportunity to compete Nationally and Internationally too.

The academy offers elite coaching 3 times a week with UEFA A and B qualified West Ham Foundation coaches alongside regular weekly match fixtures. Members also have the opportunity to gain an introduction to first aid and safeguarding, and Level 1 & 2 Football qualifications

About The Course.
During the course you will develop the theory and practical-based skills needed to progress within the sporting industry. You will be developing your understanding of anatomy and physiology, applied psychology and research methods.
 
How Is The Course Taught?
 
The course will be taught within a variety of learning environments. Using a mixture of classrooms, computer rooms, the gym, labs, football pitches and sports halls.
 
How will I be Assessed?
You will be assessed via a combination of written coursework, observations during practical tasks and presentations.
 
What does it lead to?
After completing the course, Level 3 graduates go on to study at a variety of university courses within the sports sector.
These degrees range from physiotherapy, sports coaching, occupational therapy, sports rehabilitation, sports journalism, or to train as a PE teacher. Some of our students may take the apprenticeship route which can lead to employment.
There is also an established pathway to study at The University of East London (UEL) on their collaborative degree programmes with The West Ham Foundation.
These include their BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching and Performance course​, BSc (Hons) International Sport with Enterprise course and their MSc Workplace Diversity in Sport course.”
